The Morehead State Eagles and the Marshall Thundering Herd will meet up in college basketball action on Monday.

Morehead State enters this one at 3-5 on the year. The Eagles have fallen to UConn, Syracuse, Green Bay, Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky but taken out Kentucky Christian, UMKC and Chillicothe.

In the Chillicothe blowout, Morehead State’s lead scorer was Djimon Henson with 23 points, three rebounds and three assists, while De’Von Cooper and AJ Hicks chipped in 13 apiece toward the 103-50 final.

Over on the Marshall side, they’re 5-4 this season. The Herd have taken out Eastern Kentucky, Hofstra, Mt. St. Mary’s, NC A&T and William & Mary this year but dropped to Maryland, Ohio, Duquesne and Toledo.

In the Rockets game, Marshall’s Jon Elmore put up 21 points, five assists and six rebounds, while CJ Burks added 17 points with six rebounds. Rondale Watson had a double-double for the Herd on 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win and 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 road games. The over is 6-1 in Morehead State’s last seven road games and the under is 4-1 in the last five versus Conference USA.

Meanwhile, the Thundering Herd are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the Ohio Valley and 38-18-1 ATS in their last 57 home games. Marshall is 1-4 ATS in their last five non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.

Morehead State really only has one comparable win this season, and they’ve been pretty well dismantled in their losses, despite usually hitting the 70-point threshold.

As for Marshall, they’ve stumbled across their last four games or so but they’ve been a little more competitive. I’m going to stick with the Herd here.
