Two of the most fearsome defenses in the NFL will get together at the legendary Soldier Field when the New Orleans Saints head to Chicago to face the Bears. Both teams enter Week 7 in the NFC postseason picture, with this game set to serve as a proving ground for both teams as they look to strengthen their respective positions.
Saints vs. Bears
The Saints won their fourth straight game in Week 6, earning a gritty 13-6 victory on the road over the Jacksonville Jaguars. New Orleans held rookie sensation Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars offense to 226 yards, with Teddy Bridgewater playing mistake-free football to continue his run of success while filling in for the injured Drew Brees. With road wins over the Seahawks and Jaguars under its belt this season, New Orleans has shown that it is capable of passing road tests like the one it will face this week.
Chicago is coming off of a bye week. The last time out, the team took a 24-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders in London. A sluggish start doomed the Bears in that game, with the Bears falling behind 17-0 after a Raiders onslaught in the second quarter. Travel was a factor in that game, as the Bears got to London several days after the Raiders did. Back at home after their bye week, the Bears will have no such excuses in this marquee NFC matchup.
