They’re still playing football in Oakland, and it’s time for preseason football there tonight as part of the second game of an NFL Doubleheader – it’s the Detroit Lions vs. Oakland Raiders preseason week 1.

Be forewarned on the game time: The Lions vs. Raiders game is the second scheduled for the NFL Network and if the first game is not finished at game time kickoff may get delayed. The start time below is what’s planned.

Odds: Oakland -3 / over/under 36.5

*The Oakland Raiders are predicted to have a 7-9 finish this season, according to USA Today writer Nate Davis.

“Love Jon Gruden, but he’s going to need time to adapt to this generation of players and collective bargaining rules he’s admittedly not accustomed to,” Davis wrote. “And, yes, the players must also acclimate to Chucky and a new staff.”

*The Detroit Lions may not improve at all this season, predicts USA Today’s Davis. He thinks the Lions will finish 6-10.

“Could be two steps forward and one step back under rookie head coach Matt Patricia,” Davis said. “This year will be the step back for a team that has one home game in its final four weeks.”
